Defense counsel spoke with her, and she said that based upon what she knows about Mr. Martinโs current federal criminal cases, she believes that it is โhighly unlikelyโ that he will be able to keep his brokerโs license.

Martin pled to obstruction of a public officer in 2003, pled to a 2016 battery charge where he repeatedly struck
his 14-year-old daughter, and a 2021 battery charge where Martin choked his girlfriend and dragged her back into the house after she tried to flee. Martin was on supervision stemming from his 2021 conviction while he committed the crimes in this case. Additionally, during the execution of a search warrant issued in this case, the FBI found eight firearms, including an ARโ15โstyle rifle, multiple high-capacity magazines for the AR-15, and more than 500 rounds of ammunition. Martin was prohibited from possessing these items because of his prior domestic violence conviction, and he was charged and ultimately convicted of violating 18 U.S.C. ยงยง 922(g).
