Duong is a are citizen of Vietnam. Duong does not have permanent resident status, and a final order of removal was issued for him on January 7, 2015

Duong was born in Vietnam and claims to be the son of a U.S. military servicemember who he never met. Duong Duong had an indisputably difficult upbringing in Vietnam until moving to the United States in 1985 at the age of 16. Soon after moving to the U.S., at age 17, Duong was arrested and convicted of assault & battery with a dangerous weapon, kidnapping, and manslaughter. Duongโ€™s entry into the criminal justice system as a minor began a long and extended criminal history as an adult, including the following convictions:

On April 7, 1987, two years after arriving in the United States, Long was sentenced to 9 to 12 yearsโ€™ imprisonment for manslaughter, kidnapping, and assault & battery with a dangerous weapon and released on parole on May 1, 1992. Longโ€™s parole was revoked after a few months, and he was reincarcerated at MCI Concord and Northeastern Correctional Center from October 6, 1992, until April 3, 1993.

11/10/2014, Worcester District Court, MA: conviction: operating under the influence of liquor or .08% blood alcohol content. Sentenced imposed: probation. Probation terminated on 02/25/2016 after a two violation notices were issued.

09/14/1994, Framingham Court, MA; convictions: (1) possession of burglary tools; (2) breaking & entering at night; and (3) larceny. Sentenced imposed: 90 daysโ€™ custody on all counts.

8/26/1998, Westborough District Court, MA; convictions: (1) assault & battery with a dangerous weapon; (2) breaking & entering at night; and (3) larceny. Sentenced imposed: 6 monthsโ€™ custody on all counts.

03/14/2000, Worcester District Court, MA; convictions: (1) possession of a Class A controlled substance; and two counts of possession of a hypodermic needle or syringe. Sentenced imposed: probation.

01/28/2000, Worcester District Court, MA; convictions: (1) shoplifting. Sentenced imposed: $125 fine

03/20/2013, Worcester District Court, MA: convictions: (1) assault & battery. Sentenced imposed: probation. Probation was terminated on 09/24/2014 for a probation violation.

2013 conviction for domestic violence. The domestic violence conviction in turn led to deportation proceedings.

December 22, 2014, Long was arrested and ordered detained by ICE. On January 7, 2015, only 16 days later, Immigration Judge Steven F. Day issued a final order of removal and Long waived his right to appeal. Long remained in ICE custody until March 11, 2015, when he was released pursuant to an Order of Supervision (OSUP) that remained in effect on 4/1/2024.
