A Farmville woman received minor injuries on Tuesday when she attempted to elude a State Trooper.
Approximately six-tenths of a mile north of Hard Times Road, the trooper clocked a 2000 Volkswagen Beetle and another vehicle traveling at more than 80 miles per hour on Back Hampden Sydney Road in Prince Edward County.
When the trooper attempted to pull the pair of vehicles over, the second vehicle pulled over to the side of the road, the Beetle in front continued on, attempting to outrun the trooper.
The trooper chased the Beetle for less than a mile. The vehicle turned on Hard Times Road. Approximately four tenths of a mile down the road, the Beetle ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected and ran off the left side of the road, flipping into a field.
Trooper Fariss charged 22-year-old Jolene Eicher with reckless driving and attempting to elude a police officer.
